Whilst you stay at Ballochruin Farm you are welcome to join in with the routine care of our alpacas. They require a special mineral hard feed that is given twice a day – a chance to have an alpaca eating out of your hand.
Fishing March – October - we have our own fishing rights on the River Endrick. However this is a spate river and the best fishing is in September and October.
Tennis – Killearn has three all weather courts where visitors are welcome. There is an honesty box for £1 per person per session.
Cycling - We are close to the wonderful cycling tracks near Loch Lomond and the Trossachs.
Walking – The West Highland Way is only two miles away and The Queen Elizabeth Forest is 15 mins by car.
Pubs and Restaurants – There is good eating all around the area. Close at hand in Killearn there is the Old Mill and the Black Bull. In Balfron there is an Indian restaurant called Saffron ( will deliver as well) and the Pirn Inn. Going further afield there is an excellent restaurant in Kippen called The Inn in Kippen and Culcreich Castle in Fintry is worth a visit.
Local Shopping – There are two wonderful delicatessens; one in Balfron and the other in Kippen. In Killearn there is a Spar and a Co-op where you can get all essentials. The area is also renowned for its excellent home made steak pies which you can get at the local butchers in Killearn, Balfron and Kippen.
